A heart to pray for unbelievers

May God give me a heart to pray for the unbelievers - that their eyes, hearts, and minds would be set free from bondage and blindness, that they would see the light of the gospel of the glory of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Why should I care about Palm Sunday and Easter?

Why should I care about Palm Sunday and Easter?

Short Answer:  ETERNITY... Your eternal destiny can be in heaven because of what Jesus did to pay the price for your sin.

Longer Answer:  Because it represents and commemorates the culmination of Jesus' ministry on earth and the concluding events of what Jesus did for us to give us a way out of bondage to sin and death.  Jesus arrived in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover (Jewish holy day) on what Christians now call Palm Sunday.  He was welcomed as a king.  Many people thought that he was coming to conquer and give Jews their freedom from Roman oppression and occupation.  Later in the week, however, many of the same people called for him to be crucified on the cross, which the ruling Romans went ahead and did.  Jesus rose from the dead on the third day; on what Christians now call Easter (the Sunday after Palm Sunday).  This is important because it fulfills prophecies about who is the messiah (savior); but even more important because Jesus did this for all people.  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:16-18)  The miracle of Jesus' sinless life, his death and resurrection, and the price he paid for our sins all lead to the conclusion that these are very important days indeed.  Don't squander the time!  Humbly come before God, repent of your sins and seek forgiveness, and accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus paid for.  So, instead of living with a false, temporary earthy perspective that goes along with being in bondage to sin, now you can live with a renewed purpose and an eternal perspective.  Learn more about this by reading the Bible, praying, getting into a fellowship with other followers of Christ, and seeking to know God more with your whole heart, soul, mind, and strength.
